Transport where no country roads lead

The Cottage Sikås 30 will be built in a bay in Greenland. The transport of the kit is an adventure in itself. The client says:

“On Tuesday, we transported the cottage material to the site. It was fantastic weather for a sea voyage… "

“First we transported the material with the truck to the barge.”

“Then it was about 60 km sailing to the hut place. There were about 4 huts on the barge for different locations in the fjord.”

“Close to the hut place the transport ship grounded due to low tide, and we waited until high tide. It was a bit difficult to eat the soup in the ship, but there was no damage.”

“Finally around midnight we managed to put the material close to the foundation. .”

“Yesterday, the Scandinavia to Greenland shipping company called. They had forgotten to deliver the large windows.

I have to see how I can get them to the hut place, it’s quite a project to get it there, but I am sure it will work somehow.

We will soon have a few days holiday and begin to start building. I hope the weather will be good. I look forward to it. ”
